Uphone is comprised of a group of Canadian’s who have been in the IT industry since the mid 90s. Call us early adopters/testers/creators, we follow our passions in the IT and telecommunications world. We are one of the initial implementers of DSL technology and wireless point to point connectivity. We have run IT services that span hundreds of thousands of square feet of “raised floor” (data center space). We have run business units in excess of a hundred million dollars.
Since 2010, we started into telephony for ourselves. First, we implemented a phone system which allowed us to go around cellular rates. This phone system grew to a private PBX for our own consulting clients who were no longer happy with their current telecommunications provider. In 2015 one of our larger clients suggested we take our VoIP platform to a new level. Why limit our great service to simply our consulting clients? Allow the world access to what we have built.
In 2016, we moved our infrastructure from a redundant infrastructure to a highly available infrastructure (many more servers for growth and resiliency) and moved the infrastructure into our newly constructed data center here in Waterloo.
We believe in delivering the best quality, the highest functionality and the top customer service at very reasonable rates, globally. We cover more cities and towns than any other provider in Canada.
More importantly than functionality and price, we acknowledge that VoIP can be intimidating or difficult to setup. This is why we have created management services where we will configure and manage your devices and settings for you.
